Cosmetic Tattoo can also be referred to as:
Micropigmentation, Permanent Make-Up or Semi-Permanent Make-Up.

Cosmetic Tattoo is an art and science of implanting small amounts of pigment into the skin using a small machine or hand tool. The design is created to enhance your facial features and mimic make-up.The pigment remains in the skin indefinitely, however the colour may fade over time due to environmental factors, aging, health factors or because of how light the particular pigments used in the treatment is.

Will IT HURT?

A topical anesthetic is used before and during the treatment processes to alleviate any pain.

Each client has different pain thresholds so feeling will differ between clients.

Most clients describe the first 15 minutes of brow tattooing like a light scratching feeling, more ‘annoying’ than painful.

HOW LONG DO APPOINTMENTS PROCEDURE TAKE?

Initial appointments take approximately 2 hours.​

The 'Perfection Visit' and 'Yearly Colour Boost' appointments are for approximately 1 hour unless advised differently.

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT STRAIGHT AFTER THE TREATMENT?

After your treatment, the colour may appear 20-50% darker and slightly warmer than your chosen colour. Any swelling or redness will go down within 48 hours. However, this will soften as the skin heals. The area will generally feel a tiny bit tender immediately after the treatment and will last for 24 hours.
As the area heals, you will experience itching. This is a good sign but please don't scratch!

HOW LONG DO COSMETIC TATTOOS LAST?

Eyebrow treatments last approximately 9-24 months. 

Many environmental factors will affect the pigment longevity and also your lifestyle, skin type, medications and hormones. 

It is recommended to return for a 'Brow Refresh' appointment every 12-18 months to ensure your cosmetic tattoo is always looking fresh.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT APPOINTMENTS?

You will have your first appointment with TLBB which will consist of a thorough consultation, design process, treatment and after-care instructions. Your Perfection Appointment is your follow up appointment where the design and tattoo from the initial appointment is perfected. This appointment takes place 6-8 weeks after Initial Appointment.

Your yearly Colour Boost appointment keeps your cosmetic tattoo fresh and revitalised and it's super important that you book this to ensure your tattoo stays in your skin and keeps on looking fresh!

 

WHAT WILL AFFECT MY COSMETIC TATTOO?

Factors that can affect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo:

• Excessive sun exposure - Fades the colour of the pigment 

• Lighter pigment choice - Fades quicker than a dark pigment

• Bleeding during the treatment - Pigment does not retain in the skin properly. Blood thinners, alcohol consumption and certain medications can cause excess bleeding. 

• Use of glycolic scrubs or any skincare with active ingredients - This will lesson the pigment in the skin

• Not following a good skincare regime - This will affect the longevity and the quality of the tattoo

SHOULD I WAX AND TINT MY BROWS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT?

At your appointment, your brows will be shaped accordingly. However if you have quite bushy eyebrows, please get a wax 1 week prior.If you tint or henna your eyebrows, please refrain from tinting them within 1-2 weeks of your appointment.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A COSMETIC TATTOO TREATMENT?

You must be 18 years or older.
